Tony Responds to Concerns, Questions
Obviously, there is a LOT of news to report -if you have been on the message boards in the past week, you know this! The comeback show at the University of Mary Washington was AMAZING. Videos from that show will be posted as standalone files on the site later this week, but for now, check out the links posted in this thread on the message board.
Now, onto some other news. Tony emailed me this morning with an EXCLUSIVE statement that he wanted to be released ONLY on Eve 6 Media HQ.
Here is the statement, straight from the email:
To all Eve 6 kids far and wide,
Once again thank you for sticking with us through thick and thin. Having folks like you supporting us makes the whole thing bounce along. We're in the process of booking more shows and are confident that, eventually, we will be able to hit any place that will have us.
We wanted to put out a statement intended for the fans and users of the message boards that will hopefully clarify some things and dispel some rumors that might be flying around. Here goes:
1) The Mary Washington show:
We DID NOT have any serious problems with anyone at the college, booking or otherwise, and they most certainly DID NOT get lax with the sound equipment and let it purposefully falter on us. There were some minor communication hiccups leading up to the show, and a very brief discussion regarding the rugby team and ourselves that lasted 60 seconds, but other than that, it couldn't have gone smoother. All the staff of Giant Productions and everyone else at the school were totally awesome with us, from when we booked the gig a couple months back to after the show. The PA going out was 100% pure rock power and there was nothing that could be done about it. The sound company actually gave us a formal apology.
2) "All These Things"
We're glad that people seem to be reacting well to it, but it should be known that this won't likely become an Eve 6 song. We wrote it for someone else and decided to play it at the show for kicks. Things could change, but as of right now another artist will record it. And yes we wrote it all by ourselves, and Alex Band isn't doing it. That's all to say at this time.
3) American Idol??
This one really made us laugh. We are not bitter, and never have been, at RCA Records or especially American Idol. American Idol and RCA releasing Eve 6 are not related. Although if Constantine so much as blinks at us the wrong way at Friday's show the full fury of Eve 6 will drop upon his head like a 73-pound sledgehammer.
4) The Sugi Tap
By the time you read this, we will have released what may be the last "official" Sugi Tap song for a while. "Peace of Mind" will be available through the Snocap store and you can hear a clip on our Sugi Tap Myspace music player. Yes it's true, there is a handful of Sugi recordings that we're putting in the vault for the time being. They could resurface somewhere, some time. We apologize for not releasing the EP in CD form, although it may appear as a limited edition collector's item one day. Speaking of, here are the credits for The Sugi Tap E.P.

So there we have it. Tony has straightened a few things out for us huh? Be sure to click on the hyperlinks in the above post to be wisked away to the proper portion of the interwebs to view said content.
One last note - to anyone connected with concert planning committees at your local university - PLEASE contact Tony at Eve6Mail@gmail.com to try to get Eve 6 booked at your school. The way Eve 6 was able to book their first show back at the University of Mary Washington was because a girl on the plan committee got in touch with Tony. You can do the same thing!
Labels: all these things, concert planning, directtv, Eve 6 Media HQ exclusives, Huge news, Interview, the sugi tap writing credits, Tony Fagenson
