Eve 6 Looking To Go Multi-Platform With Forthcoming Release

An interesting Eve 6 article popped up on my Google alert today from LehighValleyLive.com. Eve 6 is getting ready to play a show in Allentown, PA this week, so the local website is providing some coverage of the band. Good job by them.

A new album is in the works, he said.

"I have a feeling we'll put some new music in a multi-platform kind of thing. Fans can get it digital, get it on CD. There are probably a few stragglers left still buying on CD," Fagenson said.

Essentially, Eve 6 is trying to take the Butch Walker approach to success. Aside from writing and producing for other artists to make a living, they are going to go the independent release route, embracing the open source world we now live in. If they put the the music out, the fans will be there. The question is, when will that music arrive? As of now, nobody knows. 2009 seems unlikely.

In other news, Tony announced via a Myspace blog that Eve 6 has reestablished control of Eve6.com and they will be relaunching a website shortly. The first feature of the website will be a live, digital EP from a show recorded on February 7. The highlight of this release will be the new song that Eve 6 has been playing at their recent live shows. It will be the first new, recorded Eve 6 song in 6 years - even if it is live.
